Maru Craft Producer Company Limited, Bikaner is working in Hand Embroidery Cluster with Womenʼs of General Category artisans and also with Scheduled Castes Artisans of Poogal Bikaner District, Rajasthan. Bikaner is desert area and situated at Border of Pakistan. Embroidered products are increasingly finding a place in national and international markets. However, despite the rich tradition and market demand, poverty, illiteracy and patriarchy characterize the women embroiderers in Bikaner. Womenʼs embroidery work is home-based and sales are intermittent for that very reason.
